Der Wunsch nach Information war während der Corona-Pandemie groß, denn das Virus war neu, unbekannt und unkalkulierbar. Den Meldungen in den Sozialen Medien fehlte leider oft die wissenschaftliche Grundlage, was sicher nicht zur Beruhigung der Situation beigetragen hat. Auf Initiative von Winni Rothermel haben wir uns entschlossen, dem einen Gegenpol in Form eines informativen Podcasts zu setzen. Seit März 2020 stellen wir jeden Sonntag die aktuellen Zahlen und neuesten Erkenntnisse rund um SARS COVID 2 dar. Wir hoffen, den Menschen damit einen neutralen und faktenbasierten Rettungsanker im Meer an Informationen bieten zu können. Gleichzeitig versuchen wir, aufgrund unserer Erfahrung und Vernetzung in der Welt der Medizin und Wirtschaft, die aktuelle Situation verständlich zu interpretieren. Neben der wissenschaftlichen Information stellen interessante Gesprächspartner aus Winnis Netzwerk ihre Erfahrungen mit der Krise dar. Fragen unserer Zuhörer*innen werden direkt im Gespräch während des Podcast beantwortet. Für die technische Umsetzung sorgt Christian Rothermel, der immer alles im Griff hat. Winfried moderiert den Podcast. Glaubt man den Rückmeldungen zu unserem wöchentlichen Update, haben wir den Nerv der Menschen getroffen. Viele haben uns geschrieben, dass wir ihnen die Angst nehmen. Wir hoffen, dass unser Versuch, ruhig, sachlich und unabhängig zu präsentieren, allen hilft, informiert durch die Krise zu kommen.

Lifeline in the sea of information
There was a great clamour for information during the corona pandemic because the virus was new, unknown and unpredictable. The reports in the social media often lacked any scientific basis, which was unfortunate as this certainly did not help to calm nerves. Acting on the initiative of Winni Rothermel, we decided to provide an alternative in the form of an informative podcast. We have been presenting the current figures and latest findings on SARS-CoV-2 every Sunday since March 2020. In doing so, we hope to be able to offer an impartial and fact-based lifeline to people who are drowning in the sea of information. At the same time, we try to interpret the current situation and put the facts across in an understandable way, drawing on our experience and observing events from the vantage point of our integration in the worlds of medicine and business. In addition to the scientific information, there is input from interesting people who are linked in with Winni and who talk about their experiences with the crisis. Questions from our listeners are answered directly in the discussion during the podcast. Christian Rothermel takes care of the technical side of things and always has everything under control. Winfried presents the podcast. If we are to believe the feedback we receive about our weekly update, we have pitched the anchor in exactly the right place to reach the people where they are. Many listeners have written to us to say that we are reducing their anxiety. We hope that our attempt to present the facts in a calm, objective and unbiased way will help everyone to get through the crisis armed with the information they need.
